The GPS 15xH and 15xL are versatile, high-sensitivity sensors designed for a variety of OEM applications, including car navigation, wireless communication, marine navigation and mapping. Slightly smaller than a common matchbook, the GPS 15xH and 15xL weigh approximately 15 grams.
GPS 15x-W and GPS 15x-F are intended for CMOS level interface to a UART. These GPS receivers offer a wider input voltage range than their predecessors, 3.0Vdc – 3.5Vdc regulated. Input current, 66mA nominal. Also unlike their predecessors, the new GPS 15x-W and GPS 15x-F can be updated with the latest firmware, downloadable from Garmin’s website. These GPS receivers are roughly the size of a postage stamp and are useful in designs where space is limited.
GPS 15xL and GPS 15xH are more fully featured board level products with on-board voltage regulation, fully programmable NMEA 0183 sentence selection, programmable baud rate and true RS-232 drivers. They also offer excellent EMI/RFI performance, so you can use it near mobile computing devices and wireless communications equipment with minimal concern of interference.
